CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY

At the Scotland House we have been integrating new ideas and listening to the voices of our participants. A theme that we keep hearing, is the desire and need to have a purpose in life. Despite aging bodies and memories that are changing, our participants want to feel like they still have something to offer others. I am pleased to introduce a new program to you called Caring for Our Community.

The Scotland House participants will choose a different community organization to help support several times a year. As we were discussing current events and the effects of the government shut down, we learned about how it would affect our local food pantries. Our participants want to help others! We have coordinated a donation of food, paper, and hygiene products with the Upper Valley Haven in White River Junction, Vermont for our first project.

This is an exciting time for us and a way to give back to our community!
